ROCKET MODELS 01

OPENING QUESTION: Work by yourself to sketch a model rocket about 1 foot tall. Imagine you are doing all the work from scratch, what parts do you image you will need? (Be sure and label those!)

LEARNING GOAL FOR TODAY: I will begin doing research on how to build my model rocket during today's class

WORDS O' THE DAY:

Force ("A push or a pull")

Newton's 3rd Law: Forces always come in pairs

Noun(1) - Verb - Noun(2)

Noun(2) - Verb - Noun (1)

For example:

Hand push desk

Desk push hand

Bath push ball

Ball push bat

Today we'll take our first steps to design our model rocket (yay!).

I should have enough parts for everyone to build their own (double yay!)

There are numerous videos on YouTube that show how to design your own rocket using Pitsco materials (they are an online hobby company). Pick a video and take a quick scan at the beginning of that video. Look at the materials list and compare that to our materials that I have here in the class.

Pay particularly CLOSE attention to parts that you have to make yourself.

Now please make a detailed drawing of your rocket showing how each of those parts will be included. This will take a while, please don't rush! We have next week to work on this so please keep in mind we will NOT be doing ANY building today (or probably next Monday either!)
